An Otah Popiah

So while it was all flat-lined doom and gloom at our fair in AMK, I decided to have some fun with the ingredients I had at my disposal. Why waste a good opportunity to experiment?

Have you tried an Otah Popiah? (I now hereby coin this an OP - you read it here first!)

Here I placed a freshly grilled Mackerel Otah on top of ma Popiah. And boy, was it good. L had two, MH tried and gave it the thumbs up. Even staff at 1st grade (the Otah stall) liked it. I decided to split the Popiah into half - crepe style, instead of the usual sushi portions. This gives me the ability to sink my face into my OP, and decide the chunk I want to bite off.

I also placed a slice of Otah as a topping, on a Pie Tee cup. Worked just as well.

Boy, we sure had fun!

Congratulations to those who had enjoyed our Cup and Vegetable promotion!

It was a hectic week for us as we had to rush from AMK Hub to Singapore Expo. Normally, we would have taken just over a week to prepare for the Expo, but we only had 1 day this time - so you could imagine the amount of work cramped up into such a short time. Teamwork was important and everybody chipped in. Great job guys!

The Singapore Food Expo in May traditionally has been Singapore’s largest local food exhibition - apart from FHA, when the world will converge here. And this year is no exception. The crowd was excellent right from day one, and constant monitoring of our stock levels at the fair was required. We even had JT assigned full-time to oversee all the cooked food, and I must say, he did a wonderful job.

UC and AA were stalwarts at the stall. As they had much experience running events, my trust in them was complete.

We even had a super special deal for passion card holders - an additional $1 off for purchases of $20 and above.

Oh, for bargain hunters, here’s a tip. Go on the last day. And from around 5pm. Everybody will be dumping their stock. Cause we don’t want to bring anything back to the factory. While stocks lasts though - if we run out, we cannot possibly go back and get some more stock. Catch-22 situation.

The next major fairs will be at Suntec in September, followed by Expo again in November. See you there!
